CloudTalk Affiliate Partner Program Review

CloudTalk Affiliate Review: My Experience was bad

I joined the CloudTalk partner program with the intention of promoting its business calling platform to readers and businesses looking for a cloud-based VoIP solution. To build long term partnership.

My experience, however, did not go as expected. After investing time in promoting CloudTalk and sending prospective customers to the company, my partner access was eventually suspended and the partnership terminated thrice. (Without even considering me)

At first, they moved from Partnerstack to Introw. They didn’t able to migrate correctly to new partner link.

You can see the old link is broken?

They removed partnership at Partnerstack and moved to the introw company that was biggest disaster. I’m publishing this review to document what happened from my perspective and to highlight some issues that affiliates and marketing partners may want to understand before investing significant time or money into promoting the program.

This article reflects my own experience. Where I discuss decisions made by CloudTalk, I distinguish between what the company communicated to me and my own interpretation of those events.

Why My CloudTalk Partner Account Was Suspended

According to an email I received from CloudTalk, there were two primary reasons for the termination.

First, CloudTalk said that two business opportunities associated with my account had been identified as fraudulent and linked to businesses it could not verify.

Really?

Is am the person who use the Cloudtalk system? Do i have any kind of verification tool that the company is going through by clicking is fraudulent? But they even claim i’m the fraudulent.

Means a referral/Marketing person is sending fraudulent or malicious to the Cloudtalk intentionally. 🤣🤣🤣

Its hard to believe but they claim it. You should not laugh.

And more…

I send 2 fraud business to them. 😂😂😂

As a marketing partner, I sit my job how do i know the person or business is fraudulent.

These individuals or companies ultimately register with CloudTalk and provide their information directly through CloudTalk’s systems. As an external partner, I do not have access to the verification tools necessary to independently establish whether every prospective customer is a genuine registered business or not.

I certainly do not knowingly submit fraudulent opportunities, nor would I have any reason to do so.

Cloudtalk affiliate program review

This created a difficult situation for me.

I can promote an offer and send interested users to a provider, but I don’t have access to CloudTalk’s internal verification systems. If an individual submits company information, I cannot necessarily determine whether every detail that person provides will pass CloudTalk’s verification process.

I do not knowingly submit fabricated businesses or fraudulent leads.

For affiliates using websites, SEO or other broad acquisition channels, I believe this is a very basic thing to understand to Cloudtalk team: what responsibility does the partner have for independently verifying a prospect before referring that prospect to the provider?

The 122 Gmail Invitations — The Biggest Concern in My Case

The second issue was much more concerning to me.

CloudTalk stated that 122 generic Gmail addresses had been invited to join my team through the Partner Portal.

CloudTalk explained that Partner Portal access was reserved for verified members of the partner’s organization and said that the volume of unverified addresses strongly suggested fraudulent, automated or malicious activity.

However, I did not invite these 122 Gmail accounts to my partner team. I’m the only owner to my system and access to my email.

Cloudtalk affiliate program review good or bad

This is a definitely technical flaws in their system, the most important they don’t know and don’t want to understand. Even i explain them further.

That is an important distinction to know before joining the Cloudtalk affiliate.

I therefore asked CloudTalk to investigate the account activity and determine when the invitations were generated, which account or session initiated them, and whether additional technical information was available that could explain the activity. BUT THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO PROVIDE.

Cloudtalk affiliate portal feedback

My account creation total Days were 12 days.

How 15 days or 16 days invite is sent.

How is that possible?

The hundreds of user were already in my account when the login is provided to me. There were 44 clicks also on my system as well. I highlighted the issue at the time of joining. But no one responded.

cloudtalk affiliate program issues

I don’t want to speculate about what caused those invitations without evidence. It could be inappropriate to blame on me but there was a technical issue, unauthorized access or another hack their system cause without seeing the relevant logs.

But from my perspective as the account holder, having a partnership terminated because of 2 fake business attempt activity I do not recognize was a serious concern.

Is Lead Verification Possible for Affiliates?

This experience also raises a broader issue with B2B affiliate programs like Cloudtalk.

An affiliate can control how and where an offer is promoted. What an affiliate cannot necessarily control is what an independent visitor does after clicking the referral link.

What an affiliate cannot always control is what a visitor does after clicking an affiliate link.

For example, a visitor may:

  • enter a personal email address rather than a business address;
  • provide inaccurate company information;
  • abandon the signup process;
  • create multiple accounts;
  • fail the provider’s internal verification checks; or
  • turn out not to represent the business they claimed to represent.

A SaaS company understandably needs strong anti-fraud controls. At the same time, affiliates need clear rules explaining exactly when a questionable customer signup becomes the affiliate’s responsibility.

What I Think CloudTalk’s Partner Program Could Improve

My criticism isn’t that CloudTalk should accept every lead an affiliate generates. Fraud prevention is necessary for any SaaS partner program.

The area I believe could be improved is transparency and the investigation process.

When suspicious activity results in suspension or termination, the company like Cloudtalk always took benefit from it. Because your all successful leads go in vain without you even know. The claim of 25% commission lifetime could be over anytime within no time, even in a day or a month. No no can ask for.

So the small business companies like Cloudtalk could not able to manage transparency or don’t have enough resources or information to understand what happened and correct the problem.

In my case, I would have wanted clear answers about the two disputed opportunities and, particularly, the 122 Gmail invitations that I say I did not create. They were failed to provide it.

Providing relevant timestamps, account activity information or another reasonable explanation would make it easier for a legitimate partner to investigate what happened.

The companies should investigate to the existing referrals and future commissions even after a partnership is terminated. If a program advertises recurring or lifetime commissions. They should not have any right to terminate everything or delete the Partner Portal/dashboard completely. This will forfeit your efforts in no time.

Would I Recommend the CloudTalk Affiliate Program?

Based solely on my own experience, I would currently be cautious about recommending that publishers invest heavily in promoting the CloudTalk partner program without first understanding its compliance and lead-verification requirements.

That doesn’t mean another affiliate will have the same experience. But i do not recommend for long term partnership. They heavily rely on portal dashboard and AI detection tools. They have no manual check system. They don’t respect how critical the concern is.

Your account or partnership can be over anytime. They will blame you!!

It also doesn’t mean that CloudTalk’s underlying phone service is poor. This review concerns my experience with the partner/affiliate relationship, not a review of CloudTalk’s VoIP product itself.

Before investing substantial SEO, advertising or content resources into the program, I would recommend asking CloudTalk for clarification about:

  1. what constitutes a valid business opportunity;
  2. how affiliates are expected to verify prospects;
  3. what activities can trigger automatic suspension;
  4. how suspicious account activity is investigated; and
  5. what appeal process is available when a partner disputes activity attributed to their account.

Final Thoughts

Affiliate partnerships depend on trust in both directions. Providers need confidence that partners are not knowingly generating fabricated or fraudulent opportunities. Partners, in turn, need confidence that legitimate referrals will be attributed correctly and that disputed account activity will be investigated fairly before a partnership is terminated.

My experience with the CloudTalk partner program ended with suspension and termination within 14 days. CloudTalk communicated its reasons to me, including two opportunities it considered fraudulent and 122 Gmail addresses it said had been invited through my partner account. I dispute knowingly submitting fraudulent opportunities, and I maintain that I did not create or authorize the 122 Gmail invitations.

My concern is therefore not that CloudTalk operates anti-fraud controls. A SaaS company has every reason to protect itself against fraudulent registrations. My concern is whether a legitimate partner has enough information and opportunity to challenge activity they say they did not perform.

I am publishing this review so other publishers, affiliates and marketing partners can understand the questions I believe are worth asking before investing substantial SEO, content or advertising resources into the program.

I remain open to updating this review. If CloudTalk provides additional evidence or account information that explains the disputed activity, restores the partnership, or otherwise materially changes my understanding of what happened, I will update this article to reflect that information.
