Pickup Groups

Pickup Groups are a VoIP feature that allows one user to answer another user’s incoming call within the same group. If a colleague’s phone rings and they are unavailable, another team member in the pickup group can respond, ensuring no important calls are missed. This feature is especially useful in sales, support, and collaborative teams where quick response times matter.

How Pickup Groups Work?

How Pickup Groups Work

Pickup Groups work by linking a set of users within the same VoIP system. When a call rings on one user’s phone, any member of the group can answer it by dialing a feature code or pressing a designated button. This ensures that if the intended recipient is busy or unavailable, another team member can handle the call immediately—keeping communication smooth and preventing missed opportunities.

Pickup Groups Scenario in VoIP

A customer calls the sales department, but the assigned representative is away from their desk. Instead of letting the call go unanswered, another team member in the same pickup group hears the ringing on their phone and answers it immediately. This ensures the customer gets prompt assistance, improves teamwork, and prevents missed business opportunities.
